This month newsletter of IAAS consists success story of Qrious and important facts on SciCon 2020.
The webinar titled “Qrious” which was a workshop on successful research writing and publication organized by International Association for Advancement on Science (lAAS) and The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM) was held successfully on 6th July 2020.
Dr. Luc Hens, the chief editor of Environment, Development and Sustainability Journal and Prof. Michael Sadowski, McKnight Professor of University of Minnesota, USA served as the speaker and they shared their expertise in Research and Publications with the attendants of the Webinar.
Dr Luc Hens graduated as a biologist and received his Ph. D. in Biology from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Belgium. Until 2010 He was a professor and Chair of the human ecology department. He currently lectures at the Leuven University/Odysee (Belgium), the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy (Sofia, Bulgaria), at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Greece), and at Lisbon University (Portugal).
He was a senior scientific adviser at the “Vlaamse Instelling voor Technologisch Onderzoek” (VITO), which is Belgium’s biggest environmental research organization. He is currently retired as an emeritus professor. Professor Hens’ specific area of research concerns the elucidation of interdisciplinary instruments for sustainable development. In this framework, he acted as the promoter of over 80 research projects in Belgium and abroad (Vietnam, Cuba, South Africa, Mozambique, Ghana, Ukraine, and Bulgaria). He promoted master and Ph. D these works. He participated in Ph. D jury’s in over 10 different universities. Luc Hens is the author or co-author of 130 papers in international peer reviewed journal. He (co-)edited 43 books, and wrote 125 book reviews.
Professor Michael Sadowski, a fellow in the prestigious American Academy of Microbiology, is internationally known and respected for his research work in the area of environmental microbiology. He currently is co-director of the Microbial and Plant Genomics Institute. He has published more than 100 original articles, and his work is widely cited by researchers in several scientific disciplines. Prof. Sadowsky has an H-index of 74.
He is a renowned speaker and the author of more than 350 articles and is currently Editor-in-Chief for Microbiology Spectrum ASM’s newest journal. Dr. Sadowsky holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Hawaii and an MS in Microbiology from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He completed his Bachelor of Science with a major in bacteriology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is a fellow in the prestigious American Academy of Microbiology and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
There were 579 registrations from 45 countries and 315 participated from 31 countries covering India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, USA and many more.
The two hour long webinar started by Dr Luc Hens by the delivery of the speaker. Throughout the first hour multiple aspects of Research was explained with clear descriptions and excellent examples by the speaker. The second hour was conducted by Prof. Michael Sadowsky covering the parts of the research manuscripts. The last 30 mins was dedicated to question and answer session where the session was flooded with different questions for the both speakers. The two speakers nicely provided answers and elaborated some parts for over hundred questions and the participants were delighted to gain answers for their questions.
Appreciation towards the speakers and organizing committee was received right after the conclusion of the delivery and the International Relations Officer of IAAS Mr Arshad Rifai delivered his vote of thanks along with the details of upcoming Virtual Conference ‘SciCon’
SciCon is an international virtual conference which is going to organize by IAAS for the first time. The Virtual Conference on Future of Science 2020 (SciCon 2020) will be held on 25th September 2020. Prof. Dr. Vladimir Mrša from University of Zagreb, Croatia and Prof. Hiroshi Furuta from Kochi University of Technology, Japan are keynote speakers. This conference covers tracks of both biotechnology and nanotechnology. The conference provides the opportunity of publishing participants manuscripts in the International Journal of Nanotechnology as a special issue while Knowex Food and Agriculture journal as regular issue. Apart from that interested participants can publish their paper in the conference proceedings as well.
